1902 - 1983
The actress Carla Bartheel made an education for acting and singing and afterwards planned to become a dancer. Unfortunately a cardiac defect prevented this intention. Therefore she fancied with a career as an actress and from 1927 she was able to gain a foothold in the film business and launched a busy career as a support actress.
She made her film debut in 1927 and took part in eight movies in the same year like "La storia di una piccola Parigina - Die Geschichte einer kleinen Pariserin" (27), "Ein Mädel aus dem Volke" (27), "Kinderseelen klagen euch an" (27) and "Herkules Maier" (27).
It followed grateful roles in "Er geht rechts - sie geht links" (28), "Scampolo" (28), "Die Halbwüchsigen" (29), "Katharina Knie" (29) and "Der Hund von Baskerville" (29) in the next years.
In the early 30's followed her last cinematical works like "Die Maske fällt" (30), "Dämon des Meeres" (31), "Eine Stadt steht kopf" (33) and "Hans Westmar" (33).
After her film career she published several books to which she also
took the pictures, e.g. "Abenteuer an der Eismeerstrasse" or "Unter Sinai-Beduinen
