The actor Kurt Brenkendorf was born as Kurt Bockenheuser in Danzig.
Before he decided to become an actor he finished an education as a draughtsman but soon the theater appealed him so much that he decided to work as an actor. He got an acting education at the theaters in Danzig and Dresden.

He made his professional stage debut in 1903 in his native city, afterwards followed engagements at theaters in different cities.

Finally he came to Berlin where he acted on stage as well. Because Berlin was the metropolis of the new arising film business Kurt Brenkendorf came soon in touch with this medium.

He impersonated his first film parts in "Um fünfhunderttausend Mark" (15) and "Satan Opium" (15).
He sooon became a popular movie actor especially in crime films, among others he got an own film serial with the figure Detective Joe Jenkins he impersonated.

To his movies of the 10s belong "Die Memoiren des Satans" (17), "Der Erdstrommotor" (17), "Die Toten leben" (17), "Sirocco" (18), "Das Schicksal der Renate Jongk" (18), "De Mord im Splendid Hotel" (18) playing Sherlock Holmes, "Opfer der Gesellschaft" (18), "Echte Perlen" (19), "John Barrens und seine Geliebte" (19) again as Sherlock Holmes and "Die Tochter der Madame Dubussier" (19).

Kurt Brenkendorf impersonated numerous roles again in the 20s and he took part in the productions "Der Gefangene" (20), "Die Jagd nach dem Tode" (20), "Das Geheimnis der goldenen Kapsel" (20), "Gespenster" (22), "Gentleman auf Zeit" (24), "Der Herr der Nacht" (27), "Panik" (28) and "Besondere Kennzeichen" (29).

His film career diminished with the rise of the sound film era and he only was casted for smaller support roles occassionally.
To his last cinematical works belong "Der Mann im Dunkel" (30), "Fridericus" (37), "Wenn Frauen schweigen" (37) and "Das indische Grabmal" (38).

In order to earn his living he also worked as a facility manager for a manufactory for several years at that time. From the 40s he was active as a commercial employee.
