The actor Werner Nippen got an acting education at the Immermann theater school in Düsseldorf.

He began his stage career in 1934 in Paderborn, it followed engagements in Hildesheim, Kolberg, Ingolstadt and Munich.

During World War II Werner Nippen took part in few movies. To these works belong "Venus vor Gericht" (41), "Alarmstufe V" (41) and "Kleine Residenz" (42).

He continued his theater career after thw war. He also appeared more often in front of the camera, often for TV productions.
To hs cinematical works of the 50s and 60s belong "Regimentsmusik" (50), an episode of the serial "Unheimliche Begegnungen: Der Geisterseher" (56), "Raskolnikoff" (59), "Antonius und Cleopatra" (63), an episode of the serial "Die Firma Hesselbach: Herr Hesselbach und der Feind" (66), an episode of the serial "Cliff Dexter: Einer riskiert seinen Kopf" (67) and an episode of the serial "Percy Stuart: Rallye Veracruz" (69).

His last movies came in the 70s into being with "Claus Graf Stauffenberg" (70), an episode of the serial "Dem Täter auf der Spur: Blinder Hass" (73), an episode of the serial "Tatort: Jagdrevier" (73), an episode of the serial "Sonderdezernat K1: Sackgasse" (75) and an episode of the serial "Tatort: Reifezeugnis" (77) with a then unknown Nastassja Kinski.
 
Besides his activity as an actor Werner Nippen also took part in radio plays.
