. The actor Jack Hobbs conquered the big screen from 1916 with the movie "Tom Brown's Schooldays" (16), but only three years later he became a regular and demanded actor in front of the camera. He was convincing in movies like "The Shuttle of Life" (20), "Inheritance" (20), "The Call of Youth" (21), "The Crimson Circle" (22), "The Eleventh Commandment" (24) and "The Happy Ending" (25) in the 20's. After a longer interruption he continued his film career in the 30's and took part in the productions "Mischief" (31), "The Love Race" (31), "Josser in the Army" (32), "Beware of Women" (33), "No Limit" (35), "Millions" (37), "Fine Feathers" (37) and "Make It Three" (38). From the 40's he appeared only seldom in movies, to his last movies
belong "Let George Do It" (40) and an episode of the TV serial "Douglas
Fairbanks, Jr., Presents: Mister Purley's Profession" (56).
