. The actress Emmanuelle Béart was born as the daughter of the chansonnier Buy Béart and the mannequin Geneviève Galéa. She already made her film debut at the age of seven with "La cours du lièvre à travers les champs - Treibjagd" (72), four years later followed an other entrance in "Demain les mômes" (76). After a longer stay in Montreal, Canada as a nanny she began her real
film career in France in 1983. After a successful acting study she took
part in "Zacharius" (83), "Et demain viendra le jour" (84) and finally
"Un amour interdit - Der Filou" (84) for which she was nominated for a
César for the first time.
The 90's were no less successful than the last decade. It followed many engagements with famous directors, among others she impersonated roles in "Il viaggio di Capitan Fracasse - Die Reise des Capitan Fracassa" (91), "La belle noiseuse - Die schöne Querulantin" (91), "Un coeur en hiver - Ein Herz im Winter" (92), "L'enfer - Die Hölle" (94), "Nelly & Monsieur Arnaud" (95), "Mission: Impossible" (96) with Tom Cruise and "Don Juan" (98). To her latest works belong "La répétition" (01), "8 femmes" (02), "Nathalie..." (03) and "D'Artagnan et les trois mousquetaires" (04). Emmanuelle Béart was awarded with a César in 1987, moreover
she was nominated for a César in 1985, 1986, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1996
and 2001.
