. The actress Juliette Binoche was born into an artistic family, her father was a director, her mother an actress. Juliette Binoche didn't only have her eye on the acting but also had a great talent for drawing. So it lasted some time till she was able to choose on of these ways. She studied acting at the conservatory of Paris and made her film debut in 1983 with "Liberty belle" (83) and "Fort bloqué" (83). She had her breakthrough hin 1985 with the movie "Rendez-vous" (85) for which she got the Romy-Schneider award. She celebrated other successes with "La vie de famille" (85) and "Mon beau-frère a tué ma soeur" (86). She had her international breakthrough with a small role in "The Unbearable
Lightness of Being - Die unerträgliche Leichtigkeit des Seins" (88)
directed by Philip Kaufman.
She was always intent on quality therefore she resisted the temptation
to throw herself blindly into countless roles but selected them carefully.
Juliette Binoche was nominated for seven Césars in her impressive
career and won it in 1994.
