The director Yves Boisset belonged to the young directors in the 70's
and 80's who stimulated the French cinema with action-loaded movies but
also social-critical thrillers.
After some movies as a director assistant he realised his first own
movie in 1966, a single episode for the serial "Rouletabille: Le parfum
de la dame en noir" (66).
From the 70's he became established as a director with a flair for narrating
stories. Besides he also wrote the scripts for most of his movies and was
able to form his movies from the beginning till the end with his narrating
elements.
To his well-known producitons of those years belong "L'attentat - Das
Attentat" (73), "Dupont-Lajoie" (75), "Un taxi mauve" (77), "La femme flic"
(80), "Espion, lève-toi - Der Maulwurf" (82), "Canicule" (84), "La
travestie" (88) and "Le suspect" (89).
To his latest works belong "Double Identity" (90), "Morlock" (93), "L'affaire
Dreyfus" (95), "Le pantalon" (97) and "Jean Moulin" (02).
