In the 90s she became established as an actress and she took part in movies like "Le petit criminel" (90), "Map of the Human Heart" (93), "Ugly Meets the People" (95), "Elisa" (95), "L'appât" (95), "Marthe" (97), "Bob le magnifique" (98) and "Deterrence" (99).

Already in 1991 Clotilde Courau was nominated for the César as the most promising actress, in 1998 she was appointed to the shooting star of the European film.

She continued her film career successfully in the next years and appeared in "En face" (00), "Exit" (00), "Un monde presque paisible" (02), "Les beaux jours" (03), "La signora della camelie" (05), "La môme" (07), "Modern Love" (08) and "Des mots d'amour" (09).

In 2003 she got married with Prince Emanuele Filiberto Umberto Reza Rene Maria of Savoy, the Prince of Venice and Piedmont, the grandson of the last king of Italy.
In spite of her now aristocratic class as Princess Clotilde of Savoy, the Princess of Venice and Piedmont, she continued her career and even took part in the serial "Mafalda di Savoia" (06) in which she impersonated the grand aunt of her husband, Princess Giovanna of Savoy.
