. The actor Jean Dasté was already successful at the theater for some years when he made his film debut in 1932 with "Boudu sauvé des eaux" (32). Till the end of war he appeared in some film classics like "L'atalante" (34) and "La grand illusion" (37), other well-known productions of those years were "La vie est à nous" (36), "Remorques" (41) and "Adieu Léonard" (43). He didn't continue his film career after the war for the time being
but devoted to the theater. He soon became a leading stage actor in France
and he also directed several performances.
He only returned to the big screen in 1963 and impersonated attractive characters. To his well-known movies belong "La guerre est finie" (66), "Z" (69), "L'enfant sauvage" (70), "Le corps de mon ennemi - Der Körper mienes Feindes" (76), "La chambre verte" (78), "Molière" (78), "Mon oncle d'Amérique" (80), "La ville noire" (81) and "Monsieur Benjamin" (87). Jean Dasté was married with the actress Marie-Hélène
Dasté.
