. The actress Germaine Dermoz was born as Germaine Deluermoz in Paris. Already in 1908 - when the film business still was in its infancy - she acted in front of the camera for the first time. Afterwards followed numerous movies till 1914 which made her popular in France. After her debut with the movies "Méprise" (08) and "L'amour qui tue" (08) she appeared in many other productions like "Les chasseurs de fourrures" (09), "Beethoven" (09), "L'étranger" (10), "Cain" (10), "Milton" (11), "Olivier Cromwell" (11), "La joie qui tue" (12), "Les trois sultanes" (12), "Zaza" (13), "Le ruisseau" (13) and "La tache" (14). After an interruption of four years she continued her film career but
her appearances remaines limited in numbers till the end of the silent
movie era.
The transition to the sound film was no problem for Germaine Dermoz
and she impersonated many roles in the next years and remained active in
film business till few years to her death.
Her last movies include "Le rosier de Madame Husson" (50), "Les enfants
de l'amour" (53), the with stars till to the smallest role casted production
"Si Paris nous était conté" (56) and "L'honorable Stanislas,
agent secret" (63).
