. The actor Gilbert Gil was born as Gilbert Moreau in Goussainville. He made his stage debut at the age of 22 in the play "L'assaut", afterwards followed other engagements. One year later he also took part in movies for the first time, to his well-known productions of 30s belong "Jeunes filles de Paris" (36), "Mayerling" (36), "Pépé le Moko" (37), "Gribouille" (37), "Le voleur de femmes" (38) and "L'entraîneuse" (39). Gilbert Gil worked together with many famous directors of that time and he also appeared in popular movies of the 40s. Among others "De Mayerlilng à Sarajevo" (40), "Nous les gosses" (41), "La loi du printemps" (42), "Pierre et Jean" (43), "On demande un ménage" (46) and "La dame d'onze heures" (48). In the 50s and 60s came his last cinematical works into being like "Si Versailles m'était conté" (54), "Napoléon" (55), "Si Paris nous était conté" (56), "Les bonnes causes" (63), "L'assassin viendra ce soir" (64) and "La misère et la gloire" (65).
