The actor Fernand Herrmann joined the French film business at the beginning of its development and he took part in some popular movies of that time. 
To his first movies belong "Le trust ou Les Batailles de l'argent" (11), "La gitanella" (14), "Les fiancés de Séville" (14), L'expiation" (15) as well as a film serial with episodes like "Les vampires" (15), "Les vampires: Le spectre" (16) and "Les vampires: Satanas" (16).

His popularity remained undiminished in the next years and he took part in productions like "L'homme sans visage" (19), "L'énigme" (19), "Barrabas" (19), "L'orpheline" (21), "Parisette" (21), "Vindicta" (23),"Alterner le cynique" (24) and "L'espionne aux yeux noirs" (26).

His film career came to an abrupt end when he died in 1925 at the age of only 39. Only few months later France lamented for another movie star who committed suicide at the age of 41 - Max Linder.
