The actor Christopher Lambert grew up in Swiss Geneva, later he went
to London where he worked at the stock exchange.
After a not much successful stody of acting at the national conservatory
in Pars he made his film debut in 1979 with "Ciao, les mecs" (79). It followed
"Asphalte" (81), "Une sale affaire" (81) and "Légitime violence"
(82).
When he impersonated the title role in the movie "Greystoke: The Legend
of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes" (84) this marked his international breakthrough
and he became a shooting star.
In the next years he took part in other remarkable productions, among
others in "Subway" (85) - for which he was awarded with a César,
"The Sicilian" (87) and "Knight Moves" (92).
But from the 90's the quality of his movies cecrease drastically and
he appeared mostly in undemanding action movies like "Gunmen" (93), "The
Hunted" (95), "Mortal Kombat" (95) and "Nirvana" (97).
Besides the acting he also appeared as a producer and realised movies
like "Neuf mois" (94), "N'oublie pas que tu vas mourir" (95) and "The Good
Shepherd" (04).
Christopher Lambert was married with the actress Diane Lane.
