The actor Victor Lanoux finished an apprenticeship as a varnisher before
he joined the parachutist and served in the Algeria war at the age of 19.
When he returned he worked as a mechanic for the shooting to "Notre-Dame
de Paris" and came in contact with this business.
In the next years he played different roles at the theater. On TV he
appeared for the first time with recordings of theater plays he took part,
e.g. "Le théâtre de la jeunesse: Gavroche" (62).
It soon followed other engagement for cinema and TV but his roles were
still small for the time being.
To these movies belong the serial "Bayard" (64), "Par quatre chemins"
(67), "Le crime de Lord Arthur Saville" (68), "A corps perdu" (70) and
"L'affaire Dominici" (73).
His breakthrough followed in 1974 when he appeared in the movie "Cousin,
cousine" (74), directed by Yves Boisset. One year later he appeared in
"Un éléphant ça trompe énormément" (75).
Von nun an wurde Victor Lanoux ein regelmässiger Gast auf der
grossen und kleinen Leinwand. Er überzeugte in Produktionen wie "Nous
irons tous au paradis" (77), "Servante et maîtresse" (77), "Un si
joli village..." (79) und "Au bout du bout du banc" (79).
In den 80er und 90er Jahre folgte der Höhepunkt seiner Laufbahn.
Nebst weiteren Theaterauftritten spielte er in bekannten Filmen wie "Une
sale affaire" (81), "Un dimance de flic" (83), "Stella" (83), "La triche"
(84), "Sale destin" (87), "Rouge Venise" (89), "Le bal des casse-pieds"
(92), "Lifeline" (96), "Les démons de Jésus" (97) und "Les
grandes bouches" (99).
In letzter Zeit sah man ihn in "Reines d'un jour" (01) und "Pierre et
Farid" (03).
