. The actor Denis Lavant began his career at the street theater and took later acting lessons by Jacques Lassalle. In 1982 he made his film debut with the TV production "L'ombre sur la plage" (82), it followed the movies "Les misérables" (82), "Coup de fourdre" (83), "Viva la vie!" (84), "Oscar et Valentin" (86), "L'étendu" (87) and "Mona et moi" (89). Denis Lavant became definitely established as a movie actor in In den 90er Jahren and he took part in "Les amants du Pont-Neuf" (91) - for which he was nominated for the Euorpean filmprize as best actor, "Fuis la nuit" (93), "L'ennemi" (95), "Don Juan" (98) and "Beau travail" (99). To his latest cinematical works belong "La squale" (00), "Low Street"
(04), "Camping sauvage" (05), "Elegant" (06), "Capitaine Achab" (07), "Mister
Lonely" (07), "Tokyo!" (08) and "Obsession(s) (09).
