. The actress Gabrielle Lazure grew up in Québec and went to France in 1980 where she tried to get a foothold in the film business. In 1981 she managed this step and made her film debut with "Casta e pura" (81), it followed the movies "Ce fut un bel été" (82) and "Le jardinier récalcitrant" (83). With her engagement in "Enigma" (83) she already acted together with international movie stars like Sam Neill and Martin Sheen and people outside of France became aware of her. She confirmed her position in the French film business in the next years and took part in "La belle captive" (83), "Les fauves" (84), "Souvenirs souvenirs" (84), "Joshua Then and Now" (85) and "La révolution française" (89). The next decades offered her again interesting roles, to her well-known movies belong "Le provincial" (90), "Mémoires" (91), "Femme de voyou" (91), "Woyzeck" (93), "En panne" (96), "Fils de zub" (01), "Il fuggiasco" (03), "Les rivières pourpres II _ Les anges de l'apocalypse" (04), "The Passenger" (05), "Ma place au soleil" (07), "Ma vie sans moi" (09) and "Down the Shore" (11).
