. The actor Marcel Levesque began his acting career at the theater in 1896 and worked among others for the Théâtre de l'Athénée, where he became established as a comedian. His film career already started in 1910 with "L'arrestation de la duchesse de Berry" (10), it followed other short movies. He changed to Gaumont in 1913 and became established as a movie actor in the still young cinema. He had first successes with "Léonce et Poupette" (13), "Les somnambules" (14), "Le gendarme est sans culotte" (14), "L'illustre Machefer" (14), "Triple entente" (15), "Les vampires" (15), "Les mariés d'un jour" (16), "Le retour de manivelle" (16), "Judex" (16), "La femme fatale" (17) and "La fugue de Lily" (17). At the end of the 10s followed a film serial around the figure of "Serpentin". To these movies belong "Serpentin et son modèle" (18), "Serpentin a tort de suivre les femmes" (18), "Serpentin reporter" (19) and "Serpentin coeur de lion" (19). He was able ton continue his film career in the 20s, besides other movies about Serpentin he also took part in "L'empire du diamant" (22), "Un héritage de cent millions" (24) and "Florette e Patapon" (27). With the rise of the sound film Marcel Levesque often impersonated support roles, often for director Sacha Guitry. To his popular movies of the 30s and 40s belong "Tout ça ne vaut pas l'amour" (31), "L'affaire Coquelet" (34), "Le crime de Monsieur Lange" (36), "Faisons un rêve..." (36), "La nuit fantastique" (42), "La Malibran" (44), "Six heures à perdre" (47) and "Tabusse" (49).
