The actor Jean-Claude Pascal was born as Jean-Claude Villeminot in
Paris.
After World War II he worked as a designer for the couturier Christian
Dior. When he made the costumes for the theater play "Don Juan" available
he was seized by the acting bacillus and began a career at the theater.
He made his film debut in 1949 with "Le jugement de Dieu" (49).
In the 50's he became a popular actor of romantic figures and he impersonated
numerous roles in well-known movies like "Un grand patron" (51), "Le rideau
cramoisi" (52), "Le grand jeu" (54), "Le chevalier de la nuit" (54), "Si
Versailles m'était conté" (54), "Les mauvaises rencontres"
(55) and "La belle et l'Empereur - Die schöne Lügnerin" (59)
with Romy Schneider.
His cinematical works diminished in the 60's and he concentrated again
to the theater and launched a second career as singer. He won the Concours
d'Eurovision for France in 1961.
To his well-known movies of the 60's belong "Le rendez-vous" (61),
"Poppies Are Also Flowers" (66), "Angélique et le sultan - Angélique
und der Sultan" (68) and "Unter den Dächern von St. Pauli" (69).
In his last years as an actor he only appeared sporadically in front
of the camera, so in the serial "Le temps de vivre, le temps d'aimer" (73)
and "Liebe lässt alle Blumen blühen" (83).
