The actress Simone Renant was born as Georgette Simone Joséphine
Buigny in Amiens.
She learnt her acting ability at the theater and played her first small
role in the movie "La folle nuit" (32).
Till the end of war she took part in other movies like "Escale" (35),
"La mistérieuse lady" (36), "Mam'zelle Bonaparte" (42), "Voyage
sans espoir" (43) and "L'ange qu'on m'a donné" (45).
After the war followed the height of her career and she got offered
many rewarding roles, especially in costume movies of the 50's.
To her well-known post-war movies belong "Quai des Orfèvres"
(47), "L'homme de joie" (50), "Si Paris nous était conté"
(55), "Sans famille - Die Abenteuer des kleinen Rémi" (58) and "Les
liaisons dangereuses" (59).
From the 60's she only appeared sporadically in no less successful productions
like "Vive Henri IV...vive l'amour!" (61), "L'homme de Rio" (64) with Jean-Paul
Belmondo, "Un homme qui me plaît" (69), "Tendre poulet" (78) and
"Trois hommes à abattre" (80).
Simone Renant was married with the director Christian-Jaque
(1938-1940).
