. The actor Henri Rollan was born as Henri Martine. He cut his teeth playing at the theater to which he remained true all his life. When he joined the film business in 1910 he belonged to the pioneers from the world of theater who dedicated to this new and disregarded new medium. To his first movies belong "L'amour et le temps" (10), "L'enfant de la folle" (13) and "Le baron mystère" (18). In the 20s followed some more productions, among them "Les tois masques" (21), "Les trois mousquetaires" (21), "Vingt ans après" (22), "L'emprise" (24) and "Paris qui dort" (25). In the sound film era of the 30s he impersonated support roles in many other movies. To these movies belong "Claire de lune" (32), "Les trois mousquetaires" (32),"La flambée" (34), "Le scandale" (34), "La marche nuptiale" (35), "Les mystères de Paris" (35), "La garçonne" (36), "Giuseppe Verdi" (38) and "Regain" (39). Henri Rollan remained active in the film business till to the beginning
of the 60s and he could look back on a more than 50 years lasting film
career.
Besides the movie Henri Rollan played at the theater time and again
and later he also directed some plays.
