. The actress Viviane Romance was born as Pauline Ronacher Ortmans in Roubaix. She began as a dancer and was elected to Miss Paris at the age of 18. One year later she played first small roles in movies like "La chienne" (31), "Il est charmant" (32), "Liliom" (34), "Zouzou" (34) and "Dédé" (35). With the production "La bandera" (35) she had her breakthrough and became a demanded actress in the next years. It followed "Les deux favoris" (36), "Mademoiselle Docteur" (37), "L'étrange Monsieur Victor" (37), "Le puritain" (38), "Angélica" (39) and "L'esclave blanche" (39). She got offered other rewarding roles in the 40's and 50's. Her favour by the public remained undiminished and she took part in "Vénus aveugle" (41), "Une femme dans la nuit" (43), "Carmen" (45), "Panique" (46), "Maya" (49), "Passion" (51), "Les femmes sont des anges" (52), "Tournant dangereux" (55) and "Pitié pour les vamps" (56). After that she only appeared seldom in front of the camera. To her last
movies belong "Pelusa" (61), "La dame aux camélias" (72) and "Nada"
(74).
