The actress Sylvie Testud attended an acting education by Xavier Florent
and Raymond Acquaviva and refined her technique at the Conservatoire National
Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in Paris.
She made her film debut in 1991 with "La violoniste" (91), it followed
the productions "Couples et amants" (94), "Délit mineur" (95) and
"Eternelles" (95).
She made her breakthrough in Germany in 1996 with the unexpected success
"Jenseits der Stille" (96) as Lara. For this performance she was awarded
with the Filmband in Gold of ther German film award in 1997.
After that followed engagements in Germany and France where the expressive
actress was able to develop her talents. To these productions belong "Flammen
im Paradies" (97), "In Heaven" (98), "Marée haute" (99) and "Pünktchen
und Anton" (99).
To her latest works belong "La captive - Die Gefangene" (00), "Sade"
(00), "Der gläserne Blick" (02), "Tangos volés" (02), "Stupeur
et tremblements" (03) - for which she was awarded with the César
as best actress, "Dédales" (03), "Tout pour l'oseille" (04) and
La vie est à nous!" (05).
