. The actor Philippe Torreton came to the film business by accident more or less. His original plan was to become an employment in the police service. After his education at the conservatory for the performing arts he was a member of the Comédie Française from 1990 to 1998, at the same time he started his film career. To his first movies belong "Dernier regard" (90), "La neige et le feu" (91), "Une nouvelle vie" (93) and "Le petit qui attend le facteur" (94). His roles became more important from the middle of the 90's and he made his breakthrough with the movie "Capitaine Conan" (96). He was awarded with the César as best actor for this role. In the next years followed many other engagements for productions like
"Tartuffe ou L'imposteur" (98), "Félix et Lola" (01), "Monsieur
N." (03), "Dear Hunter" (03), "Une famille dans la tourmente" (05), "Ulzhan"
(07) and "La vie sera belle" (07).
