Richard H. Band machte sich vor allem durch seine Filmkompositionen
für Horror- und Gruselfilme einen Namen, zu dessen bekanntesten Vertretern
die Puppet-Master-Filme gehören.
Sein Vater Albert Band war bereits im Filmgeschäft als Produzent
tätig, und auch sein Bruder Charles Band wurde ein vielbeschäftigter
Produzent mit seiner Produktionsfirma Empire Entertainment, mit beiden
arbeitete Richard H. Band öfters mal zusammen.
Zu seinen ersten Filmkompositionen gehören u.a. "Laserblast"
(78), "The Day Time Ended" (80), "Parasite" (82), "The Dungeonmaster" (85),
"Troll" (86), "Ghost Warrior" (86), "The Caller" (87) und "Puppet Master"
(89).
In den 90er Jahren folgten weitere Gänsehaut verursachende Kompositionen
für "Crash and Burn" (90), "The Arrival" (91), "The Resurrected" (92),
"Remote" (93), "Dragonworld" (94), "Robo Warriors" (96), "Waterworld" (97)
und "In the Doghouse" (98).
Zu seinen jüngsten filmischen Arbeiten gehören "The Silvergleam
Whistle" (03), "Nympha" (07) und "The Raven" (07).
