Hans Ahrens

. The actor Hans Ahrens began his career at the Stadttheater in Rostock in 1891, it followed numerous engagements at different theaters in Germany before he went to Berlin in 1914. There he acted on stages of the Central-Theaters, at the Neues Theater and at the Fronttheater. Hans Ahrens was able to launch a film career at the German silent film in the 10s but his career remained limited to this decade. He made his film debut in "Die Heldin von St. Honorée" (13), afterwards he took part in the productions "In Teufelskrallen" (14), "Die Söhne des Grafen Steinfels" (15), "Der Erbe von Walkerau" (15) and "Karlas Tante" (15). He continued his film career successfully in the second half of the 10s and he appeared in the movies "Die nicht sterben sollen..." (16),"Die Dorfprinzessin" (16), "Falsches Geld" (18), "Die Mausefalle" (18) and "Das wandernde Auge" (19). Afterwards Hans Ahres retired from the film business. It lasted till 1930 before he took part again in a feature movie for Robert Wiene's "Der Andere" (30) with Fritz Kortner, Heinrich George, Käthe von Nagy, Eduard von Winterstein and Oskar Sima. With the short movie "Die Saat geht auf" (35) with Klaus Detlef Sierck and Kurt Seifert ended his film career.
