. The actor Wilhelm Althaus began his career at the theater where he first appeared as an actor, among others at the Sonderhausen-Theater, Teplitz-Theater, Stadttheater Bern and at theaters in Wiesbaden and Osnabrück. At the beginning of the 30s he also directed some plays. He entered the film business in 1938 and he impersonated several roles till the end of World War II, among them in productions like "Heimat" (38), "Das Gewehr über" (39), "Blutsbrüderschaft" (41), "Sechs Tage Heimaturlaub" (41) and "Die grosse Liebe" (42). After the war he worked as an acting teacher, appearanes on stages and in front of the camera became rarely. To his last cinematical works belong "Postlagernd Turteltaube" (42) and "Heinrich IV" (67).
