. The filmsong lyricist and screenwriter Charles Amberg became well-known in the 20s as a lyricist for the Haller-Revue in Berlin. There he also wrote numerous lyrics for populars songs, among others also for the Comedian Harmonists. From 1930 Charles Amberg also worked for the film business and he wrote numerous lyrics for filmsongs. To his well-known movies of the 30s belong "Drei Tage Mittelarrest" (30), "Zwei Menschen" (30), "Durchlaucht amüsiert sich" (32), "Die englische Heirat" (34), "Amphitryon" (35), "Der Favorit der Kaiserin" (36), "Boccaccio" (36), "Der Unwiderstehliche" (37) and "Frau Sylvelin" (38). Besides his activity as a lyricist Charles Amberg also wrote several screenplays like "Er und seine Schwester" (31), "Frasquita" (34), "Der Favorit der Kaiserin" (36), "Wenn Frauen schweigen" (37) and "Das himmelblaue Abendkleid" (41). Because they assumed that Charles Amberg nee Karl Amberg had a Jewish background he was arrested in the KZ Neuengamme during World War II. He survived the KZ but died only one year later at the age of only 51.
