The actor and director Alfred Bach was born as Alfred Baruch in Vienna. He was a successful stage actor and director and he only appeared rarely in front of the camera.
To his few cinematical works belong "Die Einödpfarre" (15), "Kindertränen" (16) and "Die Todesleiter" (21).

As a Jew he was no longer able to work in Germany in the 30s. On September 1942 he was deported to the KZ Theresienstadt where he was murdered on October 21, 1942.
