. The director Ludwig Beck began his career as a stage actor and he normally appeared in Munich. He joined the film business in 1914 and in the next years he impersonated roles in movies like "Das treue deutsche Herz" (14), "Die entschleierte Maja" (17), "Der Todeskuss" (17), "Der Jäger von Fall" (18) and "Manuela, Frau ohne Nerven" (22). He already realised his first movie as a director in 1917 with "Die entschleierte Maja" (17). In the next years he shot other movies - in some of them he also appeared as an actor - and he also wrote the script to them time and again. To his well-known movies as a director belong "Der Jäger von Fall" (18), "Das Opfer der Isis" (19), "Gewitter im Mai" (19), "I.N.R.I." (20), "Die Kronjuwelen" (20) and "Manuela, Frau ohne Nerven" (22). He often worked together with the actresses Thea Steinbrecher, Ria Mabeck and Pepy Glöckner. His film career came already after 1922 to an end. In the sound film era of the 30s he realised two short movies with "Der falsche Tenor" (32) and "Held wider Willen" (32) otherwise he only took over sporadic tasks as an assistant director for "...und es leuchtet die Prussta" (33) and "Es geht um mein Leben" (36).
