The actress Eugenie Bernay was born as Eugenie Barbara Marie Bernleithner in Chorpin. She began her career at the theater before she entered the film business in Austria in the 10s. At the beginning of her film career she took part in movies of the Vindobona Film-Gesellschaft of her husband Elias Tropp. Later followed other productions companies. She impersonated numerous roles in the next years, often under the direction of Luise and Jacob Fleck.

She played Lilli in "Der Unbekannte" (12), she impersonated Lene in "Musikantenlene" (12) and she was Minka in "Zirkuksgräfin" (12).

Other cinematical works followed with "Das Stiefkind" (17), "Das Geheimnis des Waldes" (17), "Gespenster" (18), "Der König amüsiert sich" (18) and "Der Fleck auf der Ehr'" (19).

Eugenie Bernay was married with the actor Karl Jirka in second marriage.
