. The director Fritz Bernhardt was able to launch an impressive filmcareer in Germany from 1912. To his first movies as a director belong "Abschied" (12), "Aus dem Tagebuch einer Geheimagentin" (12), "Tagebuch einer Verlorenen" (12), "Das Leben ein Roman" (13), "Der Alchimist" (13), "Angeline, die Geschichte einer Frau" (14) and "Drei Tage Mittelarrest" (15). In the second part of the 10s he shot the productions "Ihr liebster Feind" (16), "Weisses Gold" (18), "Das Lied der Tränen" (19) and "Darwin"(19). His last cinematical works came at the beginning of the 20s into being. As a director he realised "Das Haus des Schreckens" (20), "Nirvana" (20), "Der Ruf über das Meer" (20), "Die Tochter des Wucherers" (22) and "Das Strassenmädchen von Berlin" (22). In the last mentioned movie he also impersonated a small role in front of the camera. Besides his activity as a director Fritz Bernhardt also wrote the script for some of his movies.
