. The actress Ehmi Bessel took acting lessons by the famous actor Fritz Alberti and afterwards she appeared on the stage of he Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf for the first time. There she played successfully till 1929 before she joined the Kammerspiele in Munich. In 1932 she went to the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. Ehmi Bessel only appeared seldom in movies at the beginning of her career. To her few movies belong "Das Mädel vom Montparnasse" (32) and "Gruss und Kuss Veronika" (33). She continued her stage career after World War II and from now she also appeared more often in front of the camera. She began her postwar career at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin in 1947, it followed other stages, among others in Hamburg again. To her postwar movies belong "Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull" (57), "Die Wildente" (61), "Der Raub der Sabinerinnen" (65), "Rheinsberg" (67), "Die Hinrichtung" (76), "Späte Liebe" (78), "Nathan, der Weise" (79) and "Nachruf auf Othello" (83). Ehmi Bessel had an affair with the famous aviator Ernst Udet and she gave birth to her daughter Dinah Hinz which became an actress as well. Even before her daughter was born she got married with the actor Werner Hinz who adopted Dinah Hinz. Their sons in common Michael Hinz and Knut Hinz became actors too.
