. The director, cinematographer and writer Eduard von Borsody began his film career in the silent movie era as a cinematographer and he shot the movies "Das tapfere Schneiderlein" (21), "Die vertauschte Braut" (25), "Der Bastard" (25), "Dürfen wir schweigen?" (26), "Die dritte Eskadron" (26), "Eddy Polo im Wespennest" (28), "Polizeiberich Überfall" (28) and "Die verschwundene Frau" (29). With the rise of the sound film he realised his last movies as a cinematographer with "Die Jugendgeliebte" (30) and "Rivalen im Weltrekord" (30). Afterwards Eduard von Borsody became a cutter for well-known movies like "Yorck" (31), "Das schöne Abenteuer" (32), "Saison in Kairo" (33), "Flüchtlinge" (33), "Der junge Baron Neuhaus" (34), "Die letzte Vier von Santa Cruz" (36) and "Stadt Anatol" (36). He already made first experiences as a director assistant from 1931 for "Yorck" (31), it followed the movies "Flüchtlinge" (33) and "Das Mädchen Johanna" (35). Finally Eduard von Borsody became a movie director himself and at the beginning he shot short movies like "Schnitzel fliegt" (35), "Rosen und Liebe" (36), "In 40 Minuten" (36) and "Du bist so schön, Berlinerin" (36) before he directed his first feature movie with "Brillanten" (37). Till to the beginning of World War II he realised other feature movies with "Kautschuk" (38), "Sensationsprozess Casilla" (39), "Kongo-Express" (39) and "Wunschkonzert" (40). It lasted till after World War II till he was able to continue his film career. As a director he realised the productions "Die Frau am Wege" (48), "Weisses Gold" (49), "Sensation im Savoy" (50), "Die Wirtin von Maria Wörth" (52), "Maxie" (54), "Dany, bitte schreiben Sie" (56), "Liane, das Mädchen aus dem Urwald" (56) and "Der Schäfer vom Trutzberg" (59). At the beginning of the 60s came his last cinematical works into being with "Romanze in Venedig" (62) and "Bergwind" (63). Eudard von Borsody's was the art director Julius von Borsody, his son Hans von Borsody became an actor and his granddaugther Susanne von Borsody became an actress too.
