. The actress Lya Borré was born as Lina Hedwig Bode in Berlin. She was able to launch a successful film career from 1915 and she made her debut in the movie "Im Feuer der Schiffskanonen" (15) at Kurt Vespermann's and Traute Carlsen's side. It followed Alwin Neuss's "Die Stimme des Toten" (16) with Bruno Kastner and Franz Hofer's "Der Posaunenengel" (16) with Fritz Achterberg. In her most popular movie "Homunculus, 1. Teil" (16) she impersonated the role of the daughter of the Generalprokurator Steffen at the side of Olaf Fönss, Albert Paul, Theodor Loos and Friedrich Kühne. Other movies followed with Richard Eichberg's "Das Bacchanal des Todes" (17) with Ellen Richter, Erich Kaiser-Titz and Werner Krauss, "Irrwege der Liebe" (18) with a then unknown Hans Albers, playing Roloff's wife in "Nerven" (19) with Eduard von Winterstein and Erna Morena and "Der Knabe Eros" (20) with Emil Birron and Heinz Hilpert. Her budding film career came to an abrupt end in 1920 when, like many people of the time, she fell victim to the Spanish flu at the age of 30. After her death, the film "The Gold in the Djagga Region" with her was released in 1923.
