. The actor Dieter Borsche was born as Dieter Albert Eugen Rollomann Borsche in Hannover. He got his first artistic engagement as a dancer at the Städtische Oper in Hannover. After a successful acting instruction he went first to the theater before he was able to gain a foothold in the film business. However the great breakthrough was refused for the time being. Till the end of war he took part in the productions "Alles weg'n dem Hund" (35), "Wie einst im Mai" (37), "Die Geliebte" (39) and "Jungens" (41). The great time came after the war for Dieter Borsche when he became one of themost popular German post-war actors in no time. After the movie "Nachtwache" (49) followed in the 50's popular productions like "Dr. Holl" (51), "Sündige Grenze" (51), "Vater braucht eine Frau" (52), "Muss man sich gleich scheiden lassen?" (53), "Ali Baba" (54), "Zwischenlandung in Paris" (54), "Die Barrings" (55), "Wenn wir alle Engel wären" (56), "Königin Luise" (57) and "A Time to Love and a Time to Die" (58). The 60's marked the busiest decade in his career. He appeared in many movies and confirmed his acting abilities with "Sabine und die hundert Männer" (60), "Die toten Augen von London" (61), die Miniserie "Das Halstuch" (62), "Die glücklichen Jahre der Thorwalds" (62), "Der schwarze Abt" (63), "Der Henker von London" (63), "Der Schut" (64), "Durchs wilde Kurdistan" (65) and "Lady Hamilton - Zwischen Schmach und Liebe" (68). Dieter Borsche suffered from muscle atrophy for many years and he had
to cut down his activity and normally took part in TV productions. To these
movies belong an episode of the serial "Paul Temple: Murder in Munich"
(70), "Hoopers letzte Jagd" (72), "Die letzten Tage von Gomorrha" (74),
the serial "Der Strick um den Hals" (75) and the serial "L'âge d'or"
(81).
