. The actress Katharina Brauren made her film debut already in 1937 with the production "Madame Bovary" (37). Till the end of the war followed only two more movies - "Du gehörst zu mir" (43) and "Seinerzeit zu meiner Zeit" (44). During this time she concentrated to her stage career mainly. Her film engagements kept seldom after the war for the time being. She acted among others in the movies "Kätchen für alles" (49), "Die Schuld des Dr. Homma" (51), "Toxi" (52) and "Küss mich noch einmal" (56). From the 60's followed often appearances in TV productions and serials. To her well-known works of those years belong "Die Unverbesserlichen und ihr Optimismus" (67), "Ein Sarg für Mr. Holloway" (68), "Die Zwillinge vom Immenhof" (73), the serial "Die Dämonen" (77), the serial "Die Buddenbrooks" (79), "Novemberkatzen" (86), "Ödipussi" (88), "Otto - Der Ausserfriesische" (89) and the serial "Nur eine kleine Affäre" (94). Besides her activity as an actress she became also well-known to a whole generation as a speaker for cassette plays, among others adventures of Enid Blyton's "The Famous Five", Hitchcock's "The three ???" and many fairy tales. Katharina Brauren was among others awarded with the Bundesfilmpreis
in 1986 for her role in "Novemberkatzen".
