. The director and writer Hans Karl Breslauer began his career as a stage actor in Colgone, it followed engagements in Wiesbaden and Vienna. He already joined the film business as a screenwriter in 1910 but his first works are no longer documented. To his screenplays of the 10s belong among others "Das Gewissen des Andern" (17) and "Little Pitsch als Meisterdetektiv" (19). He wrote his last screenplays in the 20s for the productions "Verklungene Zeiten" (22), "Das Haus Molitor" (22), "Die Stadt ohne Juden" (24) and "Strandgut" (24). Hans Karl Breslauser was also responsible as a movie director. To his works of the 10s belong "Lena oder Lene" (18), "Ihre beste Rolle" (18) and "Am See der Erlösung" (19). His last cinematical works as a director came also in the 20s into being with "Miss Cowboy "(20), "Das Geheimnis der Nacht" (21), "Am Rande des Abgrundes" (22), "Das Haus Molitor" (22) and "Die Stadt ohne Juden" (24). For few movies Hans Karl Breslauer was also the producer like "Lieb' mich und die Welt ist mein" (23) and "Strandgut" (24). Once he also appeared in front of the camera as an actor for "Zu spät gesühnt" (16). Besides his activity in the film business he also wrote numerous novels and short stories and he sometimes used the pen names James O'Cleaner and Jenny Romberg. To his novels belong "Der Dreissig-Pfennig-Roman: Das Ei des Kolumbus" (41), "Liebe, Diebe" (43), "Der Dohlengraf" (52), "Die erdolchte Mumie" (53), "Die schönste von allen" (54), "Der Sprung ins Ungewise" (54), "Das Ofer der Aglaja" (57), "Der Diener seiner Exzellent" (57), "Wo wohnt das Glück" (61) and "Ursel und der Hochstapler" (64). Hans Karl Breslauer was married with the actress Anny Miletty.
