. The actress Traute Carlsen was born as Gertrud Rosalie Kempner in Dresden. She began her film career already in the silent movie era where she appeared in few movies like "Der Leidensweg einer liebenden Frau" (13), "Manya, die Türkin" (15) und "Dr. Hallin" (21). At the beginning of the 30's she was only able to continue her career
for a short time in Germany. Normally working at the theater she also took
part in the movies "Marschall vorwärts" (32) and "Das erste Recht
des Kindes" (32).
Traute Carlsen stood in Switzerland after the war where she did a successful
theater career which was rewarded with the Hans Reinhardt ring of the Swiss
Society of Theater Culture in 1959.
