. The actress Eva Christa was born as Eva Christlieb in Degerloch. After an acting education by Emmy Remolt-Jessen she made her film debut in “Störtebeker” (19). She took part in only few movies in the next years like “Der Perlenmacher von Madrid” (21) with Hermann Wlach, Herma van Delden, Lo Bergner and Richard Kirsch and she impersonated the title role in “Mabel und ihre Freier” (22) at Emil von Dollen's, Alois Pennarini's and Vera Nordegg's side. Besides her work as an actress Eva Christa also realized several movies as a director. To these movies belong the productions “Aus der Jugendzeit” (21) with Lotte Gayen and Arnold Risch, “Jugendglück und Liebesleid” (22), the already mentioned movie “Mabel und ihre Freier” (22) as well as “Heinrich Heines erste Liebe” (22) with Alois Pennarini, Margerete Lanner, Vera Nordegg, Peter Kreuder and Emil Brosig. After her film career she turned to the theater where she appeared on numerous stages till to the beginning of the 30s. Finally, she worked in the fashion industry and wrote articles for magazines. She was married to the graphic designer Paul Rieger (1895-1969). |
