She started her film career with movies like "A 111-es" (19), before she went to Germany in order to become a great star.

Under the direction of her husband Alexander Korda (1893-1956) she took part in numerous of his movies and became a darling of the public and a success guarantor.

To her successful productions belong "Samson und Delila" (22), "Das unbekannte Morgen" (23), "Jedermanns Frau" (24), "Die Sklavenkönigin" (24), "Madame wünscht keine Kinder" (26) and "The Private Life of Helen of Troy" (27).
Her popularity was so big that Austrian investors refused their grant for the movie "Die letzten Tage von Pompeji" (26) if the leading part wouldn't be recasted with Maria Corda - what finally happened.

Still the formerly celebrated actress fell into oblivion. With the sound film has her career finished and she was soon oust from her position by the following players.
