Arnold Czempin

The actor Arnold Czempin first studied classic archaeology and art history and finished it successfully in 1911.

Afterwards he started a career as a theater actor, additionally he campaigned for theater workers with the co-foundation of the "Schutzverband für Bühnenangehörige".

He already appeared in front of the camera in 1911 for the first time in "Der Unbekannte" (11) but his real film career started in 1916.
He impersonated numerous roles in the 10s in movies like "Das Lied der Liebe" (16), "Das unheimliche Haus" (17), "Ferdinand Lassalle" (18), "Die siebente Grossmacht" (19), "Heddas Rache" (19), "Lilli" (19) and "Margot de Plaisance" (19).

His last cinematical works came at the beginning of the 20s into being with "Das Recht der freien Liebe" (20), "Gräfin Walewska" (20), "Der tote Gast" (21) and "Der grosse Sensationsprozess" (23).

When the political situation in Germany changed he emigrated to Tel Aviv where he lived for several years. In 1945 he emigrated to the USA where he remained till his death. He did not appear in any movies in those years.
