The actress Käthe Dorsch began her career as an operetta sopraness
before she turned to the acting.
She made her film debut already in 1916 with the movies "Der Sekretär
der Königin" (16) and "Ein tolles Mädel" (16). In the next years
followed many other productions like "Dornröschen" (17), "Der Sohn
der Götter" (18), "Die blaue Mauritius" (18), "Vendetta" (19), "Können
Gedanken töten?" (20) and "Fräulein Julie" (21).
After the movie "Sklaven des 20. Jahrhunderts" (22) she retired from
the film business and devoted exclusive to the theater where she became
one of the great actresses.
Her theater career took mainly place in Vienna where she was successful
at the Volkstheater and at the Burgtheater.
She only made her comeback in the film business with the rise of the
sound film. Her appearances kept sporadically but she occupied her few
film roles always with her acting abilities.
To her well-known talkies belong "Savoy-Hotel 217" (36), "Eine Frau
ohne Bedeutung" (36), "Trenck, der Pandur" (40), "Komödianten" (41)
and "Der Bagnosträfling" (49).
