. The film composer Bernhard Eichhorn finished a study for music and dramatics, afterwards he joined the Acadomy of musical art in Munich. At the age of 25 he took over the function of a bandmaster at the Bayerische Landesbühne, it followed other engagements in the same function. In 1934 he became music director in Breslau where he worked for the next ten years. His first composition for a movie came already in 1931 into being for "Im Bann der Berge" (31) but his real film career as a movie composer began in 1940. To his well-known works of those years belong "Kleider machen Leute" (40), "Dr. Crippen an Bord" (42), "Reise in die Vergangenheit" (43), "Unter den Brücken" (46), "In jenen Tagen" (47) and "Der Apfel ist ab" (48). In the 50s and 60s followed many other film compositions which were written by Bernhard Eichhorn for the productions "Epilog" (50), "Weisse Schatten" (51), "Rosen-Resli" (54), "Der Hauptmann von Köpenick" (56), "Die Geierwally" (56), "Monpti" (57), "Der eiserne Gustav" (58), "Der Schinderhannes" (58), "Das Glas Wasser" (60), "Der brave Soldat Schwejk" (60) and "Bel Ami" (68). Since the end of the 60s he worked exclusively for television and he continued this engagements in the 70s as well. In those years he wrote the music for TV movies like "Einladung ins Schloss" (70), "Die Feuerzangenbowle" (70), "Die preussische Heirat" (74) and "Margarete in Aix" (76). Other
