1889 - 1971

.
.
The actor Wilhelm Pilgram, alias Willy Favart, first completed a bank apprenticeship before embarking on a career as an actor in 1909. He received his training at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, where he worked his way up through extra roles to supporting and leading roles.
Engagements followed at the Neues Theater in Hamburg, the Schauspielhaus Bremen, the Stadttheater Kiel and the Stadttheater Dresden. Other venues included the Royal Prussian Court Theater, the Theater in Bielefeld, the Lessing Theater in Berlin and the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg.

In those years he acted in few silent movies like "Ein ungeklärter Fall" (21) and "Don Juan" (22).

His artistic career came to a standstill from 1936 when he was accused of sexual molestation of an underage pupil. At the trial in 1938, however, he was acquitted.

From 1940 he continued his stage career at the Schauspiel in Cologne, where he remained active into old age.

He did not appear in front of the camera again in films until 1954.
These productions include "Schneider Wibbel" (54), "Ein Engel namens Schmitt" (54), "Daphne Laureola" (62), "Leonce und Lena" (63) "Der Kirschgarten" (66) and an episode of the series "Der Idiot: Role Photographs and Quotations" (68).

Besides his activity as an actor Wilhelm Pilgram was also a regular speaker for radio plays.
