The actress Emmy Flemmich joined the film business in 1916 and she impersonated numerous roles in silent movies during the next years.
To her well-known movies of those years belong "Streichhölzer, kauft Streichhölzer!" (16), "Das Licht im Dunkeln" (16), "Die Liebe der Betty Raymond" (17), "Die Jüdin von Toledo" (19), "Primanerliebe" (27) and "Höhere Töchter" (27).

With the rise of the sound film her appearances in front of the camera diminished, but she remained active as a movie actress till 1950.
To her last movies belong "Lumpenkavaliere" (32), "13 Stühle" (38), "Frech und verliebt" (48) and "Gruss und Kuss aus der Wachau" (50).
