Ernst Friese

. The screenwriter, actor and director Ernst Friese already got in touch with the world of the theater as a little child because his father was the actor Carl Adolf Friese. Therefore he already made his stage debut in 1890 in New York where his father was engaged for several years. Ernst Friese continued his stage career as a child after the return to Austria. After his education he took over the position of a secretary at the Residenztheater in Vienna. As a mature actor he impersonated only support roles. He realised his only movie as a director in 1925 with "Verklungene Wiener Tage" (25). Beside it he also wrote the screenplay for the movie "Der Rastelbinder" (26). Ernst Friese was active as a film distributor for 15 years and he also published several books as an author. |
