. The actor Herbert Gernot became established at the theater from the end of the 10s and he appeared among others on stages in Hamburg, Munich and Berlin. From 1933 he became a demanded support actor in movies and he took part in numerous well-known productions. To his popular movies of the 30s belong "Ein Unsichtbarer geht durch die Stadt" (33), "Durch die Wüste" (36), "Die gelbe Flagge" (37), "Der Berg ruft!" (38), "Geheimzeichen LB 17" (38), "Robert Koch, der Bekämpfer des Todes" (39) and "Frau im Strom" (39). In the 40s he impersonated roles in the movies "Die Rothschilds" (40), "Blutsbrüderschaft" (41), "Der grosse König" (42), "Rembrandt" (42), "Altes Herz wird wieder jung" (43), "Titanic" (43) and "Der verzauberte Tag" (44). Herbert Gernot only acted seldom in front of the camera after World War II like "Der Herr vom andern Stern (48) and "Begegnung mit Werther" (49). Besides his activity as an actor he also dubbed foreign movies.
