. The actress and singer Gerty Godden was born as Rosina Hecht in Berlin. She began her career on stage where she was brilliant as a cabaret artist, among others for the „Die acht Entfesselten“. There she met the actor Rudi Godden and they got married in 1937. Only four years followed a stroke of fate when Rudi Godden died unexpected by blood poisoning – he was only 33 years old. Gerty Godden appeared in front of the camera during World War II for the first time for the productions „Ein Mann für meine Frau“ (43) and „Gefährlicher Frühling“ (43). She continued her film career after the war and she took part in „Die Privatsekretärin“ (53), „Roman eines Frauenarztes“ (54), „Rosenmontag“ (55), „Kirschen in Nachbars Garten“ (56), „Wo die alten Wälder rauschen“ (56) and „Weisser Holunder“ (57).
