. The actress Käthe Gold began her career as a stage actress in Vienna, Munich, Bern and Berlin. She could assert an the Staatstheater Berlin and became an expressive actress. In movies she only appeared sporadically, the first time already as
a little child in "Der Unbekannte" (11) directed by Luise Kolm. As an adult
one of her first movies became her greatest triumph. This was the musical
film adaption of "Amphytrion" (35), which was the most successful
movie of that year.
Käthe Gold went to Zurich in 1944 and continued her theater career, three years later she went to Vienna at the Burgtheater. In Vienna she was able to go on from her great stage successes in the 30's and acted there for many years. Käthe Gold also appeared in post-war movies. To her well-known movies of those years belong "Palace Hotel" (52), "Rose Bernd" (56), "Der Tod des Handlungsreisenden" (68) and "Karl May" (74). Moreover she also took part in single episodes of the serials "Der Kommissar" and "Derrick". Käthe Gold was the bearer of the Reinhardt ring besides other awards.
