. The actor Otto Graf was born as Otto Ludwig Fritz Graf in Meiringen. There he completed a apprenticeship at the mortgage bank, beside it he already appeared as an extra at the Hoftheater. He began his professional stage career in 1920 in Mühlhausen. It followed other stations before he was engaged by Gustaf Gründgens at the Staatstheater Berln in 1934 where he remained till 1944. In the film business he appeared in 1935 for the first time and he impersonated normally impressive support roles. To his great movies till 1945 belong "Verräter" (36), "Kapriolen" (37), "Urlaub auf Ehrenwort" (37), "Condottieri" (37), "Robert Koch, der Bekämpfer des Todes" (39), "Bismarck" (40), "Ich klage an" (41), "Andreas Schlüter" (42), "Damals" (43) and "Der Engel mit dem Saitenspiel" (44). In post-war Germany he only appeared in front of the camera from the
50's. To these movies belong "Canaris" (54), "Anastasia - Die letzte Zarentochter"
(56), "Die Ehe des Herrn Mississippi" (61) and "Die Herren mit der weissen
Weste" (70).
